Tragic crash in south Tenerife leaves one woman dead and two seriously injured

A 36-year-old woman has died and two others are in a serious condition following a late-night road accident in the south of Tenerife last night (Sunday).

The crash occurred at around 11:00pm on the TF-657, which is the road from Cabo Blanca to La Camella in the municipality of Arona. According to reports from the emergency services, the vehicle left the road and hit a wall.

The Canary Islands’ Emergency and Security Coordination Centre (CECOES) immediately activated emergency response teams. Firefighters secured the vehicle and rescued two women who were trapped inside the car.

SUC medical personnel confirmed that one of the women was in cardiac arrest, but despite advanced resuscitation efforts at the scene, they failed to revive her and she was pronounced dead at the scene.

A second woman, aged 47, sustained serious multiple injuries and was transported by a medicalised ambulance to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de La Candelaria. A 53-year-old man, who also suffered serious injuries, was taken to the same hospital by a separate ambulance.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of those involved. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
